The Market Is Crazy

To say the market is upside down right now is not an understatement.  If you are an M&A or general corporate attorney at a big firm, you’ve likely fielded your ninth recruiter call of the day before you finish your second cup of coffee (and there will be plenty of coffee in your future).  

No matter if you are at a small or big firm, people are looking at your online profiles.  If you do get a call from a recruiter or otherwise want to engage with the job market, you are going to need to have a buttoned-up resume.  One that highlights your actual skills.  One that can clearly articulate where you could jump in on a deal.  One that concisely shows an employer not just where you have been, but how each opportunity has contributed to your growth as an attorney.

The Independence Day holiday is a great time to get your resume polished and ready to go!  Consider taking some time during the long weekend to dust off your resume and make sure it is in the best possible shape.  Many people will be offered a once-in-a-generation opportunity to advance their career in this market.  Be sure you are ready if opportunity knocks at your door.
