Resume Faux Pas: Please Remove These Items From Your Resume

In what is sure to be an ongoing discussion here at LegalResumeReview, here are a few things that we see every day that you should remove from your legal resume:

·       “References Available On Request”;

·       A career objective section. We know your objective is to find a job EXACTLY like the one you are applying for, so why waste the reader’s time;

·       A title.  Just put your name on top, you don’t need to call out that it’s a resume;

·       Photos; and

Personal information (this includes your age, your marital status, information about your kids and any other tidbit that would make an employment attorney slap her forehead).
